When will applications for April 2020 open?
Applications for the McGill MBA Japan program entrance in April 2020 are open.
Candidates should visit the GMAT website, and prepare for the TOEFL or IELTS test if necessary. Open House Sessions are ongoing. Register now or send us an email.

I’ve started my application, but am having some problems.  Who should I contact?

I haven’t completed the GMAT, GRE, or TOEFL test. Can I still apply?
Yes, you can still apply. Please complete the online application and indicate the dates that you propose to complete the GMAT and/or TOEFL exams.  If you have any further questions, contact us at mbajapan@mcgill.ca.

Do I have to take the TOEFL or IELTS exam?

It will be decided case by case, based on your application.  Every applicant to McGill University is required to demonstrate English language proficiency.  Typically, if English is your mother tongue, if you completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in English, or if you studied or worked in an English speaking country for at least four consecutive years, you will not be required to take an exam.  For more details, click here: English Language Proficiency.  For specific questions about your case, contact us here:  mbajapan@mcgill.ca

I don’t think my GMAT, GRE, or TOEFL score is high enough. What do I do?
First, contact our Tokyo office to explain your situation. It is possible to take the GMAT, GRE, or TOEFL test again, if necessary.

I don’t have all of my documents ready. What should I do?
Please start the online application and press the submit button. The rest of the documents can be uploaded after you have completed the application, even after February 15.

Are classes offered in English?
Yes. All lectures and materials are in English.

My university will not send a transcript in English. What should I do?
Take your original official transcript and confirmation of degree to a certified translator. Upload the original transcript and confirmation of degree along with the certified English translations as one document file. These documents will have to be sent to Enrolment Services at McGill University in Montreal, once accepted.

Is the degree you receive the same as the one in Montreal?
Yes. It is exactly the same. Graduates of the McGill MBA Japan Program can participate in the Convocation Ceremony in Montreal.

I am not in Japan at the moment. Can I still apply to the McGill MBA Japan Program?
Yes. You will need to be in Tokyo when classes start. Certain overseas students may be eligible for a student visa to enter Japan. Please contact the McGill MBA Japan Program Director to get more information before applying.

Does the McGill MBA Japan Program sponsor a student visa?
McGill MBA Japan is the Japan campus of a foreign university as recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Students from overseas may apply for a student visa to study with us. Contact us directly for more information.

How do I get a visa to stay in Japan if I don’t have a job at the moment?
If you are in Japan, you may be able to transfer your current visa to a student visa sponsored by the McGill MBA Japan Program. Contact us directly for more information.

I went to a university outside of North America. How do I know if my degree is equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree?

I am Canadian. Is there a different fee structure for Canadians?
The McGill MBA Japan Program has the same fees for all students, regardless of nationality.
