McGill University has announced the reappointment of Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou, Dean of the Desautels Faculty of Management, for a second five-year term, which will begin on July 1, 2020. Dean Bajeux-Besnainou joined Desautels in 2015 as the Faculty’s first female dean.
Following a detailed review by the Advisory Committee for the Possible Reappointment of the Dean of the Desautels Faculty of Management, Principal Suzanne Fortier recommended Dean Bajeux-Besnainou’s reappointment to the McGill University Board of Directors, which the Board accepted on December 5, 2019.
Under Dean Bajeux-Besnainou’s leadership, the Faculty has continued to strengthen its standing as a global leader in management education. Dean Bajeux-Besnainou spearheaded the expansion of Desautels’ physical footprint through the Donald E. Armstrong building and, following a generous donation from the Bensadoun Family Foundation, opened the doors of the Bensadoun School of Retail Management to help transform the future of retail.
During Dean Bajeux-Besnainou’s first term, the Faculty also launched two new specialized Master’s programs with the Master of Management in Finance and Master of Management in Analytics. Continuing Desautels’ commitment to experiential learning, these programs provide real-world experience to empower the next generation of future-ready leaders.
Prior to joining Desautels, Dean Bajeux-Besnainou served as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Chair of the Finance Department at the George Washington University School of Business. As a Professor of Finance, she has taught extensively at various universities. She holds a doctorate in Mathematics Applied to Finance from Université Paris-Dauphine and is an International Academic Member of the EQUIS Accreditation Board.
