Special Evening Lecture by Professor Adolfo de Motta
McGill Japan Special Evening Lecture will be held on Tuesday, March 14th, 2017 with
Professor Adolfo de Motta of the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University.
Professor de Motta will give a Special Evening Lecture on Contract Theory based on the work of his PhD advisor: Professor Bengt Holmstrom.
Professor Holmstrom, who was awarded the 2016 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics.
Professor de Motta is one of the world’s most widely respected and influential researchers and professors in Finance: His research has been published numerous times in the Journal of Finance, and other top academic journals. He is also a long-serving Professor of Corporate Finance in the McGill MBA Japan program, and at the Desautels Faculty of Management’s home campus in Montreal, as well as being a beloved friend of our students and alumni.
This general talk on Contract Theory will be of great interest to everyone, considering its impact in corporate governance, managerial performance, and contract negotiations in general. The talk is aimed at a general audience, and members of the public are welcome to attend.

McGill MBA Japan program continues to deliver the quality and recognition of the Desautels Faculty of Management’s MBA program in a weekend format, in a convenient Nishi-Shinjuku, the heart of business in Tokyo. No other program in Japan is as internationally recognised and respected as McGill.
The McGill Japan Forum and Shinnenkai, hosted by the McGill Alumni Association in Japan and McGill Japan on Tuesday, 9th January, 2018 was a huge success. Under the theme of the next 20 years, our panelists:
Mr. Danny Risberg, Chairman, Philips Electronics Japan, K.K. Ms Yuka Shimada, Head of HR, Board of Directors, Unilever Japan Holdings K.K., treated us to a lively discussion, moderated by Dr. Zineb Mouline, MBA Candidate 2019. The topics covered included the need to make the workplace without fear, the goal of happiness, and the coming impact of Artificial Intelligence, and the importance of understanding and investing in this. The Shinnenkai was attended by about 140 McGill students and alumni and friends at the Tokyo American Club.
