“Learning Wisdom From the Wise”
In 2006, Professor Karl Moore led 40 Desautels Faculty of Management students to Omaha, Nebraska to learn from legendary investment guru, Warren Buffett.
Given the tremendous success of the first visit and the recognized value of experiential learning, the Desautels Faculty of Management arranged another opportunity for McGill students to meet the iconic Warren Buffett on January 20, 2017.

The Desautels Faculty of Management’s McGill MBA Japan program is partnering with Nikkei Business School to offer a Special Series of Introductory Lectures and Networking Opportunities with our professors from our Home Campus in Montreal, while they are in Tokyo.
This will be an ideal chance to learn from some of the world’s top professors in their fields, and find out more about our innovative weekend McGill MBA Japan program in Tokyo.
The lectures take place on evenings at the Nikkei Business School Facility in Otemachi, Tokyo.
This will be an excellent opportunity to participate in short lectures from some of the world’s top professors, and have a take away that you can put to work for you and your organization.

McGill Japan Special Evening Lecture will be held on Tuesday, March 14th, 2017 with
Professor Adolfo de Motta of the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University.
Professor de Motta will give a Special Evening Lecture on Contract Theory based on the work of his PhD advisor: Professor Bengt Holmstrom.
Professor Holmstrom, who was awarded the 2016 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics.
Professor de Motta is one of the world’s most widely respected and influential researchers and professors in Finance: His research has been published numerous times in the Journal of Finance, and other top academic journals. He is also a long-serving Professor of Corporate Finance in the McGill MBA Japan program, and at the Desautels Faculty of Management’s home campus in Montreal, as well as being a beloved friend of our students and alumni.
This general talk on Contract Theory will be of great interest to everyone, considering its impact in corporate governance, managerial performance, and contract negotiations in general. The talk is aimed at a general audience, and members of the public are welcome to attend.

Mr Susumu Kaminaga, Senior Advisor and former President of Sumitomo Precision Products Co., Ltd. visited the McGill MBA Japan Classrooms on Sunday, January 15th, 2017 to give an amazing lunch time talk on his long and successful career in the Aviation and later in the Micro Electro Mechanical Systems: MEMS. The work by Mr Kaminaga with his many global partners in Canada, Germany, the UK and USA, is fundamental to the lives that we live today. The consumer and healthcare products that we take for granted today, such as smart phones, sensors in our automobiles, are made possible by the groundbreaking work that Mr Kaminaga did in engineering and business development with Sumitomo Precision Products.
